Oh Pumpkin Pie....Sweet and Savory!!

Well as many of you know, I have a real issue with Savory and Sweet mixing in my foods. Now most of you would think this is completely crazy, but not in the world of my brain.

Today, I went down to Provo for a lovely Sunday dinner. The main course was so good and then the dessert came Pumpkin Pie. I have never had pumpkin pie in my life. I had a feeling that I was not going to like the dessert. I see pumpkin pie as mixing sweet and savory together. Weird as pumpkin is a fruit. Yes thats right, whatever category my brain puts it into will determine whether or not I will eat it. Well I decided to give it a try. Oh my Gosh!!! It was amazing. It was gone within about 3 minutes of being handed the plate. I now am so excited for Thanks Giving!! Bring on the pie. :)

2 weeks in...

Well I am now finished my second week of school. Oh my gosh, why is it not week 14. I need to get over this 4.0 keeping.

Let me just give you a run down of my day.

6:am- Beep Beep Beep, Snooze Snooze Snooze!
6:15am - Get out of bed and find my way to the shower
This part is kinda boring, depending on my mood, I will either watch tv getting ready or listen to music. I have breakfast, brush teeth and get my bag. I then leave for school and take the adventurous I15, where I fear for my life. I get to class about 5 minutes early just so I can be prepared for Facebook and Gmail. For the next hour I just listen to junk coming out a professors mouth. Yes Class is over.

My next class is religion. This is a class of style, I have a lovely weirdo of a guy in it that on Tuesdays dresses like a geek and by Friday he is dressed like a woman almost. He is very odd, but highly entertaining for me. I then listen to my religion teacher and watch him jump about the room to get his point over. Oh within all of this I do txt, txt, txt, txt.....

Oh great another hour of religion, really picked my schedule well. It is now 10:am I am pretty tired of sitting in the same seat and trying to concentrate. So I do my best to listen and learn. 11:am comes. YES class is over.

I have an hour to chill before I start work, I normally make my way round the school speaking to people I know. I never normally speak to people I don't know, I never know what to say.

Oh joy! Work time. Hello Help Desk. Here goes my afternoon.

Ring ring ring, reset password, broke my computer, employee training, let me install that software, ring ring ring, transfer call, I cant login, emails, sort mail, have someone take mail. ring ring ring, Grrrrr - Ben has arrived to drop something off in work, where are you from?- Sandy, just kidding Scotland, Ring Ring Ring, broke my computer and finishing with 5pm. Yes finished work.

I then make my way over to the seats outside work for my hour nap. We have quite a deep connection me and these seats. Zzzzzzzzzzzzz. Wake Up Wake Up! Time for class

I then make my way to class and do my usual sign into Gmail and make sure my phone has signal in the class. The next hour is txt, txt, txt, chat chat chat, oh make a comment, make a another comment. Hand in work. Yes class is over. Time to go home.

I then arrive home if I don't go for a little tan. I then put my pjs on and watch movies and chillax. I am exhausted.

Good Night!! xx

All you need is good friends

FRIENDS!

A friend is someone who understands your past, believes in your future, and accepts you just the way you are.

I found this quote in an email I received when I was 16. I was sorting my emails and decided to go into an email I had received from a friend in High School. She sent me this email, when I was preparing for my Academy of Music audition. I was so stressed and kinda grumpy, but she still loved me. I mean, who wouldn't Right?!?!

I feel this quote is perfect for me at this time in my life. I don't need to change me to have friends.

I love the friends I have, I am thinking right about now, that I have the best friends ever.

Mixed Feelings

I have been finding it hard of what I should share next... Nothing really funny has happened to me in the last few days, which is unusual. I lead an exciting life. Every minute is a giggle with me.

I have a lot of mixed feelings going through me right now.

My friend Hannah moved here from Scotland to go to the BC and so I have been excited to hang out with her and show her around Salt Lake. Its been highly entertaining.

Work this week has been insane and very exhausting. I went to bed at 11:00pm Friday night and awoke Saturday and 11:30am and was still tired. It has been a fast week but very very busy. I have dealt with all sorts.

I start school on Monday. Welcome Fall semester. NOT!! I am so unprepared for this semester and just don't want it to start. I can't believe Summer is over already. I am kinda nervous for Fall and feel my schooling is going too quick and I don't know what I am doing. I hope Monday and just Fall in general goes well.

My sister is pregnant and she is back in Scotland. Enough said... Hard being so far away.

I have so many fixed feelings going through me right now. I am not going to bore you with them all. Its all fun in the life of Whitney Dione Clancy. :) Mixed feelings make life more fun.. right?!?!

It's all about Annie!!

Here is a picture of Annie... I mean who wouldn't love her.

ANNIE

I decided that the only post I am going to make today is all about little Annie Bishop. Annie turns 2 today and is such a joy to have in everyone's lives. She is hilarious and a really clever little girl.

Meghan is Annie's mum she is awesome. I feel like Meghan is a sister to me. She is the 4th girl in the Clancy girl's. She lived with us for a while in Scotland. We shared a room and just always had fun. So obviously her two little girls Annie and Maycie are going to be pretty awesome too.

Annie is the closest thing I have to a niece right now, Maycie too. All my family love these two little girls so much. We love having family things so we can see them.

Annie is the cutest thing you will ever meet. She sings, dances and says hilarious things. I am excited for her party today and to see her face with her presents and cake.

Happy Birthday Day Annie! I love you! :)

Maury! You make my life seem perfect!

This afternoon while I was channel hopping, I came across the talk show Maury. I was intrigued to watch it for some strange reason. The only words that can describe this show is WOW.

I now feel like I have the perfect life. Who would have thought looking into others lives can make you want to gloat a little about how perfect your life is... Well almost perfect for me if I didn't have....mmmm!!!

I have come to the conclusion, Maury must do these shows to make himself feel better about his life. No wonder he seems soooo happy all the time. He has every moron in the world on his show, proving this to him for hours at a time.

Happy Labour/Labor Day!!!

Two People I miss right about now..

Today, I tried calling my sisters back in Scotland and neither of them answered. As you can imagine this is really annoying. Sometimes its weird when you have 3 sisters and 2 live in Scotland and 1 in Utah. So I decided to make one of my posts about them, as I am kinda missing them right now.

When you see them you will wish they were your sisters too.

We all have nicknames for each other: Victoria is Jack, Kimberlea is Tommy and I am Mac. :)

Kimberlea is in pink and Victoria in black and white.

"The Rules" from the Guy's side

I was browsing Facebook this morning and came across this on a friends page. I found it hilarious to read. I can pretty much say this is pretty accurate. I have seen myself do some of these things, but what is worse I know girls who do the whole lot. My favourite is the "headache" rule. I completely agree and know many girls who have this problem but yet never die.

I think everyone will have a giggle reading this.. Its really funny!! :)

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Finally , the guys’ side of the story. We always hear ” the rules” from the female side.

Now here are the rules from the male side. These are our rules! Please note.. these are all numbered “1″ ON PURPOSE!

1. Men are NOT mind readers.

1. Shopping is NOT a sport. And no, we are never going to think of it that way.

1. Crying is blackmail.

1. Ask for what you want. Let us be clear on this one: Subtle hints do not work! Strong hints do not work! Obvious hints do not work! Just say it!

1. Yes and No are perfectly acceptable answers to almost every question.

1. Come to us with a problem only if you want help solving it. That’s what we do.

1. A headache that lasts for 17 months is a Problem. See a doctor.

1. Anything we said 6 months ago is inadmissible in an argument. In fact, all comments become null and void after 7 Days.

1. If you think you’re fat, you probably are. Don’t ask us.

1. If something we said can be interpreted two ways and one of the ways makes you sad or angry, we meant the other one

1. You can either ask us to do something or tell us how you want it done, not both; If you already know best how to do it, just do it yourself.

1. Whenever possible, Please say whatever you have to say during commercials.

1. Christopher Columbus did NOT need directions and neither do we.

1. ALL men see in only 16 colors, like Windows default settings.Peach, for example, is a fruit, not a color. Pumpkin is also a fruit. We have no idea what mauve is.

1. If we ask what is wrong and you say “nothing,” We will act like nothing’s wrong. We know you are lying, but it is just not worth the hassle.

1. If you ask a question you don’t want an answer to, Expect an answer you don’t want to hear.

1. When we have to go somewhere, absolutely anything you wear is fine. Really .

1. Don’t ask us what we’re thinking about unless you are prepared to discuss such topics as guns, computers, hunting, or other "boring" stuff.

1. You have enough clothes.

1. You have too many shoes.

1. I am in shape. Round IS a shape!

1. Thank you for reading this.

Yes, I know, I have to sleep on the couch tonight; But did you know men really don’t mind that? It’s like camping.

Pass this to as many men as you can to give them a laugh. Pass this to as many women as you can to give them a bigger laugh!

I wish I could be clever enough to work in Walmart!!

Don't you just wish you were clever enough to work at Walmart? I do...

Today I went to Walmart and was served by the same woman who served me a few weeks ago. I was quite surprised she remembered who I was, as 2 weeks ago when I spoke to her, she had half a braincell. The whole time she was serving me, I was finding it hard not to laugh from the last experience I had with her. Let me tell you this experience.

Two weeks I go to Walmart to return a few things and buy some essentials. I go to the cash register and have the nicest woman in the world helping me. We are chatting, asking each other how their day had been. You know the usual junk you talk about. I was almost done when, mmm lets call her Betty asks me

"Can I ask you a question?" "Sure" I reply. "I just love the way you talk" As usual, I just smile and say "thanks." Just then I go to turn and she said " You know I have always wanted an accent from the South" As you can imagine, I about died. At first I thought she has to be joking me. NOPE! She was deadly serious. I just smiled, as I didn't want to laugh in her face. I then walked away and could not stop laughing.

Apparently Betty hasn't always wanted an accent from the South, I do not think I sound like that at all, maybe I do.. I think it would be pretty cool. Poor Betty!!

I was hoping Betty would say something else really funny to me today, but she did not. Oh well.. I can still laugh about Betty the first time.

Healthy Eating

Well about a month ago, I decided I was going to start this healthy eating. Many people around me were doing it and I was seeing amazing results. Some people I am stunned how much it has changed them. So I decided if all these people can do it. I Whitney D Clancy can!!!

The first few weeks were going great. I was strict and was really getting into it. Then the last few weeks, I just keep messing up. Well I decided on Tuesday to start strict again. I started working out and also eating healthy. Imagine that would help my situation. Although in 5 weeks, I have lost 12lb.

Weight is a really weird thing, it goes up and down. It is very annoying but yet interesting. I feel I have an addiction to my scales. Every time I walk past them. I step on!

So tonight, I decided to go for a run. I have been timing my miles at 11 minutes per mile. Tonight it jumped to 12 minutes. I did run 6 miles. I think I am going to be VERY sore tomorrow. I did not plan on running this long, but it was so beautiful out and I just had more energy.

I am not going to let anyone know yet what I weigh. Until I have hit a certain goal and then I will reveal what my weight was, and start a count down to my target weight. Lets see how this goes. :)

The Joys of the Help Desk

This week has been crazy, productive, hard, overwhelming, funny and weird. It has maybe been one of my best weeks at work even with all these different feelings.

To begin the week at the Help Desk, we like everything to blow up and not know what to do. Well that happened. One of my co-workers quit and is now living back in sunny California. It was a sad day but I feel I am over it when I actually think of everything.

We have to hire new people for Fall semester.. Yikes!! Being a Supervisor, I get thejoy of going through resumes, deciding those who are in my words crap, those who can speak English and those who we want to even make the effort to meet with. Tons of resumes were looked through and we began meeting with people. Some interviews were better than others, some of them just irritated me.

We pretty much had decided who we were going to hire but I just had this gut feeling to interview this guy. I did not know why I has this feeling but I shared it with my boss and he seemed cool with it. So the interview begins... Questions are being answered, discussions going on... some I have no idea how they managed to come up anyway. Overall I thought it was a good interview. Yeah thought.. I walked back into Todd's office to him looking at his computer screen. I decided to sit down, when all of a sudden he turns round and tells me "Why did I waste his time". As you can imagine, I almost died. I had a good feeling about interviewing the guy and thought the interview went well. Shortly after him seeing my face drop and a sick feeling in my stomach. He bursts out laughing. It was a joke. I had to laugh. It was more a laugh of relief. I was not at all impressed but I soon seen the funny side of it. Yes, I don't have the typical boring boss. He likes to make fun of you. Great huh?!?! :)

Although work was a different type of week and very busy. I feel it was productive. I am very tired but looking forward to my 3 day weekend. Happy Labor Day!!!

New to this....

Now that I have become completely Americanized, the next step is to start a Blog. Apparently everyone has one going on. My friend Lisa and Kelly have them and I enjoy reading theirs very much. So I think this will be fun and it will help keep my Scottish friends and family up to date with my life out here in the states.

I do feel this is the next thing to take over my time and life, just like Facebook, Gmail & Bebo. I spend enough time on computers without adding something else addictive. Oh well I will get over it.

So here goes......
